If your workloads are hosted in our managed private cloud, Model 1 (Managed Backup & DR) gives you fully managed, tested protection with monthly reporting and contractual RTO/RPO. If you run your own Veeam infrastructure on-premises or elsewhere, Model 2 (Veeam Cloud Repository) gives you a secure, sovereign South African offsite destination for your encrypted backups. Many clients use both.
No — and this is by design. Backups pushed to our Veeam Cloud Repository are encrypted by your Veeam installation before they leave your environment. We store the encrypted data securely, but we do not hold your encryption keys and cannot access or restore the data. Restoration is performed by you using your own Veeam console and credentials. This means even in a worst-case scenario involving our infrastructure, your data remains inaccessible to anyone but you.
For managed cloud workloads (Model 1), recovery time is governed by your contracted RTO — agreed upfront and tested monthly. For critical workloads we typically target sub-4-hour recovery. For VCSP offsite storage (Model 2), recovery is performed by you using your own Veeam installation and encryption keys — we ensure your encrypted copies are intact and available.
All backup data — whether managed cloud backups or VCSP repository storage — is held inside South African jurisdiction at our Teraco Isando facility. No data is transferred to or stored in foreign cloud regions. This is contractually guaranteed in every service agreement.
You need a current supported version of Veeam Backup & Replication. We'll confirm compatibility during the initial consultation and assist with the repository configuration on your Veeam console.
Yes. All backup data is stored in South Africa under South African law. Our Data Processing Agreement covers both backup models and is aligned with POPIA requirements. Your information officer can request our compliance documentation at any time.
